The California Assessors’ Association (CAA),  has created this Privacy Policy to demonstrate CAA's commitment to privacy, so that you, the user, will be aware of the uses made of information that may be generated as a result of you using our website.

Information generated when you visit the CAA website depending upon your use of the website, certain types of personal and nonpersonal information may be collected. For example, you may give us your name, member number, or email address when you complete an application, respond to a questionnaire, or submit an email to CAA. “Members Only"
The California Assessors’ Association is a a 501c6 nonprofit association consisting of the 58 County Elected Assessors and their staff members. Our website contains a "members only" sections for which a login and password are required. The members only section contains additional information, such as forms, documents and other information intended to assist California Assessors’ Association members.

Registration for CAA for members and non-members is available on our website.

In order to process and complete your registration orders, you may be asked to provide certain information, such as your name, address, state and zip code. We may also need to ask you for your credit card number, expiration date, and security information.

With respect to your credit card information, this information is sent encrypted to a secure server. The information is then used to complete your purchase order.

The information collected through the registration forms is used to process your order and may also be used to keep track of the amount and types of purchases being made through the  CAA website. CAA may also use your email address or mailing address to send you information regarding updates to the events we are sponsoring.

In some areas of our website, we have included links to other Internet sites which we feel add to or improve the quality of our website. Distributions Lists and Forums
CAA may provide forums, listservs, message boards, and/or news groups on our website. These features will be helpful to the users of our website. However, CAA will not monitor them regularly nor will CAA be responsible for what is said on or done as a result of them. Please remember that any information you disclose on these types of features will be accessible to the public and you should exercise caution prior to disclosing any personal information on these features. Each listserv or other informational forum will have its own terms of use, which you must read and agree to prior to its use.

A listserv is a program that sends emails to the addresses on the listserv's list. CAA listservs may only be available if you affirmatively sign up to participate. If you decide you do not want to participate in a particular listserv, the first email you receive from the listserv should provide you instructions on how to opt out of the service.

As required in the Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance (DMARC) specification, and enforced by Yahoo and AOL, our third party community software provider routes and stores private messages sent from member to member via the “private email” aliases. These emails are only visible to CAA staff with administrative privileges and will only be viewed by CAA staff, if ever, for the purpose of maintaining the technical operation of the member communities. CAA’s access to these emails is consistent with the access available to technical staff of your own email providers.

The California Assessors’ Association (CAA) may disclose information provided by you if we are legally required to do so, such as by court order or subpoena.
